OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, SEPTEMBER 4, 2012:

Allen, Gerald Loren Born August 1, 1948, passed away suddenly at his home on September 2, 2012.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; father, Loren Allen (Arjean Ybarra) of Spokane, WA; sisters, Donna (husband, Leonard) Selvig of Escondido, CA and Lisa Allen of Spokane, WA; brother, Ron (wife, Annette) Allen of Hobart, IN; his loving stepsons, Eric Yates (Jen Reiner), Jeff (wife, Amy) Yates and Jason Childers; he had an abundance of joyful times with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends. Gerry worked as a Machinist for Mittal Steel for 46 years. He loved to beat all of his friends on the golf course and was a gifted artist.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 5th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, September 6th, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Duneland Community Church, 1552 Pioneer Trail, Chesterton, IN.
