Steve Stephenson - Class Of 1968

OBITUARY FROM THE POST -TRIBUNE:

STEVEN ALAN STEPHENSON Hobart, Indiana Age 57, a lifelong Hobart resident, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2007. He was a retired employee of U.S. Steel, Gary Works and a member of Local #1046. Steve was the rock of his children's lives. He was devoted to family, friends and the community. He was an avid bowler, golfer, and more recently, a skier. He was a member of Duneland Ski Club. An owner of many bicycles, Steve's annual summer goal of 2000 miles has been met over the past few summers. A lifelong Chicago White Sox fan, he enjoyed going to many games with his children. Steve was a rigger by trade, with the heart of a storybook hero. Not a day will pass without him being sorely missed by his children and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma and Ralph Stephenson. Steve is survived by his daughter, Julie Stephenson of Chicago; son, Michael Stephenson of St. Louis; brothers, Robert and Jeff Stephenson, both of Hobart.

A time of sharing will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory will precede the visitation.
