OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, AUGUST 12, 2003:

JANET L. HYATTE Age 53, a lifelong resident of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away Friday, August 8, 2003 at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso, IN. Born to parents, Fritz M. and Mildred (Lute) Fasel on September 11, 1949 in Gary, Indiana. She married Vernon G. Hyatte Jr. in Hobart, Indiana on November 21, 1971, who survives. A life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart, IN. Janet was a graduate of Trinity Lutheran Grade School in 1963 and Hobart High School in 1967. She was a member of the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary for over 30 years, Porter County Food Service Coop, and special birthday & Yatzee clubs.

Also survivoring: son, Craig Hyatte of Chesterton, IN; daughters, Crystal (Michael) Owen of Fayetteville, NC and Angela (Jay P.) Schabloski of Oshkosh, WI; brother, Freddie (Lorene) Fasel of Hebron, IN; sisters, Marjorie (late Daro) Downey of Valparaiso, IN and Kathy (Gary) McKinney of Hebron, IN; mother-in-law, Marilyn (late Vern Sr.) Hyatte of Valparaiso, IN. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Robert E. and Kenneth R. Fasel and sister, Millie Huggins.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Drive, Hobart, IN with Rev. Marc L.F. Freiberg officiating. Interment Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 12, 2003 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
