Larry Berg - Class Of 1952

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, OCTOBER 7, 2013:

Lawrence Jay Berg, age 79, of Crown Point IN passed away peacefully on October 5, 2013. Larry was born on August 25, 1934 to Walter and Dadie Berg.

Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jenny (Kikalos) Berg; sons: Greg (Julie), Darrell (Cathy) and Spiros; daughters: Debby Zenci, Kathy, Claire (Andrew) Fabrizius and Mari (Troy) Shirer; brothers: Rich (Diane) Berg and Terry Berg. Larry was predeceased by his parents; sister, Mary Kay Kennedy; daughter, Carol Berg; and grandson, Brian Berg. Larry was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and was overjoyed to welcome five great grandchildren.

Larry was raised in Hobart, IN and was a life-long "Brickie". He attended Indiana University and served his country with eight years in the US Navy and during the Korean War. Along with his wife, he was the owner of The Village Pump in Glen Park. Larry met and endeared hundreds of people in his various occupations: manager at Nick's Liquors, bartender at Innsbrook Country Club and greeter at Burns Funeral Home. Larry was known and loved by many as Dad, Grandpa, Pappous, Mr. Berg, Uncle Larry or La.

Visitation Wednesday October 9 at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point IN from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services, officiated by Pastor Bob Brietbarth, will be on Thursday October 10, at 11:00 a.m. directly at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Rt. 30 and Randolph, Crown Point IN.
