Robert (Bob) Leroy Albers - Class Of 1955

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JANUARY 2, 2011

Robert L. Albers, age 76, of Hobart, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at William J. Riley Hospice in Munster. Robert was a lifelong Hobart resident and retired from American Bridge in Gary. He also was a self-employed locksmith and graduated from Hobart High School in 1955.

Robert is survived by three daughters: Julianna (Chester) Horne of Presque Isle, ME, Laura (Dean) Moretton of Valparaiso, and Shelley (Dr. Keith) Pitchford of Dyer; eight grandchildren: Shannon Newman, Shawn (Laura) Newman and Carleena (Steven) Giangior- dano; Ryan, Alan and Russell Moretton; Adare and Garron Pitchford; and five great grandchildren. His beloved wife of 43 years, Eileen Albers, preceded him in death; and his parents: Leroy and Helen (nee Harding) Albers.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Boy Scout Association would be appreciated. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
