OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, APRIL 11, 2009

Eleanore A. (Reisinger) Armontrout, age 73, a lifelong resident of Hobart, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. She was born on March 31, 1936 in Gary, IN the daughter of Virgil and Minnie Marie Reisinger. Eleanore was a 1954 graduate of Hobart High School, a 1958 graduate of Manchester College and also received a Master's Degree in Education from Indiana University. Eleanore was married to Lafey (Bill) Armontrout on June 21, 1969 in Hobart. She taught Biology and Physical Education for over 33 years for School City of Hobart. She was a former member of the Hobart First United Methodist Church, a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, and a member of the Humane Society and Wild Life Association.

Eleanore is survived by her loving husband, Lafey (Bill) Armontrout of Crown Point; brother, Dr. Eugene (June) Reisinger, D.D.S. of Hobart; sister, Elaine (Robert) Broschart of Crown Point; brother-in-law Chester Pisarski of Valparaiso; nieces and nephews: Thomas (Tina) Reisinger, Susan (Dave) DeJonge, John (Lynn) Hughes, Bryan (Heather) Pisarski, Diane (Robert) Ray, Cary Pisarski, Michael Broschart, Renee (Virgil) Tidwell, Jan (John) Fink and Lauren Edelen; and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Betty Pisarski.

A visitation for Eleanore Armontrout will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2009 at Rees Funeral Home - Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Rees Funeral Home with Reverend Darrell Schultz, officiating. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery.
