Debbie Auten - Class Of 1975

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, MARCH 22, 2010:

Debra Sue Auten, 53, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at home with her family by her side following a long, courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born February 17, 1957 in Gary to Edward A. and Margaret (Hegyi) Auten. Debi graduated from Hobart High School in 1975, and operated a Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Cape Coral, FL for 15 years before returning to Indiana. She was a member of Liberty Bible Church and found her purpose in life by nurturing foster children.

Survivors include two children: Nathaniel Edward Auten and Callie Ann Auten, both of Valparaiso; her parents: Ed and Marge Auten of Valparaiso; sisters and brother: Kathy (Ron) Raduski, Susan (Tim) Weaver, Carol Greer, Edward (Jennifer) Auten, Jr., all of Valparaiso, and Patricia Hamaker of Fishers, IN; along with many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. A special thanks to Debi's longtime friend and caregiver, Carolyn Burnham.

Following cremation at Angel- crest Crematory, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 5:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home in Valparaiso, with Pastor Cort Bucher officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 until the time of the service at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VNA Hospice or Liberty Bible Church.
