Barbara Williamson (Boynak) - Class Of 1948

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JANUARY 2, 2011

Boynak, Barbara Jeanne (nee Williamson), age 81, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Porter Memorial Hospital. Barbara Jeanne was a lifelong Hobart resident and graduated from Hobart High School in 1948. She married Joseph Stephen Boynak on February 4, 1950. Barbara Jeanne had a passion for cooking and playing cards. She was head cook at St. Bridget in Hobart for many years. Barbara Jeanne also ran a catering business with her friend and partner, Diane MacDonald. She was a lifelong member of St. Bridget church and a 50-year member of St. Anne's Confraternity. Barbara Jeanne and her husband enjoyed wintering in Florida for 20 years where they also have many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. God grant her eternal rest.

Barbara Jeanne is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Joseph Stephen Boynak; 3 children, Gregory (Joyce) Boynak of Lakes of the Four Seasons, Pam (Mark) Hutchins of St. Augustine, FL and Lisa (Donnie) Walls of St. Louis, MO; 5 grandchildren, Andrea Vrtikapa, Joseph and Eric Boynak, Rebecca Robbins and Mike Guess; Barbara Jeanne was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth (Tom) Bianco and Janet Ross; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Addison and Grace Williamson and sister, Donna.

A funeral for Barbara Jeanne will be Tuesday, January 4, 2010 beginning with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart and processing to St. Bridget Catholic Church, 568 E. Second St., Hobart, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Dominic Bertino officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2010 from 2-5 & 6-8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart with a rosary and prayer service at 3:30 p.m. For information please call (219) 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
