OBITUARY FROM THE NW INDIANA TIMES, DECEMBER 18, 2007

Eleanor A. Leonard, age 94, of Hobart, IN, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007 at home surrounded by her family. Eleanore had been a Hobart resident since 1925 and was a graduate of Hobart High School Class of 1931. She was an employee of Kellen's Florist with 20 years of service. She enjoyed writing poetry and was a member of Lake County Poetry Club. She has had several of her work published several times. Eleanore was a past president and life member of American Legion Post 54 Auxiliary. She attended Michigan Ave. Methodist Church. Eleanore was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and watching birds. Eleanor will be missed by her family.

Eleanore is survived by four children: David (Dottie) Leonard of Hobart, IN, Tom Leonard of Hobart, IN, Donna Brazil and Patricia Dooling both of Hobart, IN; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, James R. Leonard; and one son, Richard "Dick" Leonard.

Memorials may be given to the Hobart Food Pantry, Hobart Historical Society or Michigan Avenue Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN with Rev. Jonathon Gosser officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 19, 2007 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 20, from 10:00 a.m. until of service.
