OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, NOVEMBER 29, 2006:

JOHN W. GIBBON, SR. Lawrence, Kansas formerly Hobart, Indiana Funeral services for John Gibbon Sr., age 65, of Lawrence, KS, will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana Street in Lawrence, KS. He was born November 18, 1941, in Indiana, the son of John & Ruth (Brashier) Gibbon. He was a 1959 graduate of Hobart High School, Hobart, IN. John was married in 1962 to Marie L. Bessler of Portage, IN. She survives. Mr. Gibbon was employed by NIPSCO in Northern, IN for 37 years.

John is survived by his wife, Marie and their 2 children: Lisa Hunt of Lawrence and John W. Gibbon Jr. of Highland, IN; and 4 grandchildren: Allison Marie Hunt, 13, T. Allan Hunt, 11, Meagan Kathleen Hunt, 7, and Morgan D. Hunt, 4, all of Lawrence, KS.

Visitation will be at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence, KS on Novemer 29, 2006 from 3-5 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Although he will be greatly missed by all, a celebration of his life will be held immediately following the funeral service at Christ Community Church, Lawrence, KS where John was a member.
