OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JANUARY 29, 2007:

JANIE PAULINE BEATTY Hobart, IN Age 68, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Sebo's Nursing Home. She was a longtime Lake Station resident, a member of Trinity United Methodist of Hobart, and a member of the Hobart Amaranth. She was also a past Indiana state soloist for Amaranth. She was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1957.

She is survived by 1 sister, Linda (Anthony) Tsampis of Hobart; 1 brother, John (Chuck) Beatty of Portage; nieces and nephews, Steve (Nancy) Mast, Nancy (Martin) Carroll, Scott (Lee Ann) O'Kelley, Anne (Robert) Grusak, Dan (Diane) Hodge, Sharon (Jim) Eslick, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Rose Beatty, 2 sisters, Mildred (Steve) Mast, Wanda (Edgar) Hodge, 1 brother-in-law, James O'Kelley, and 1 nephew, Christopher O'Kelley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Beatty Family care of Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN 46342. Cremation will take place at Calvary Crematory, Portage.
