James Cavanaugh - Class Of 1970

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JUNE 24, 2005:

JAMES R. CAVANAUGH Gary, Indiana Age 53, passed away Monday, June 20, 2005 at his residence. He was a longtime area resident and was currently residing in Gary. He had attended Hobart High School, and served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, for which he received the Purple Heart. He was formerly employed with U.S. Steel and Bethlehem Steel, where he worked as a supervisor. He was a member of Valparaiso Nazarene, V.F.W., and DAV. He will be remembered as a wonderful son, father, and friend.

James is survived by his mother: Helen Boltz of Florida; mother of his children: Marian Snow of Hebron; sons: Michael and Adam both of Hebron, Joe Reeves of Portage; twin daughters: Sandra (Bill) Huddleston and Rachel (John) Reeves-Olis both of Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruby "Mimi" Harrell.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev. Gerald T. Walworth, officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Visiting hours will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2005, at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
