OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, DECEMBER 24, 2007:

Helen E. Reeder, age 91, a longtime Hobart resident, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, December 21, 2007. She was a graduate of Hobart High School and was formerly employed as an operator at General Telephone.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. "Lefty" Reeder; grandsons: Jason Bowman and Cortland Walker; and sister, Mary Allen. She is survived by two daughters: Cheryl (Loren "Bub") Bowman of Hobart, IN and Nancy (Dirk) Flick of Valparaiso, IN; four grandchildren: Michael Bowman of Hobart, IN, Angie (Steven) Isakson of Portage, IN, Clint Walker (Danielle Rafols) of Valparaiso, IN and Chuck Flick of Hobart, IN; two nephews: Robert (Zeta) Allen of Hobart, IN and Bruce (Shirley) Allen of FL; and niece, Donna Monfort of Champaign, IL.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, IN with Rev. Craig Forwalter officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Hobart, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
