Lorraine Leigh Griffin (Woodkey) - Class Of 1984

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, FEBRUARY 14, 2008:

Lorraine Leigh Woodke, age 42 of New Chicago, passed away as a result of an automobile accident on February 11, 2008. Lorraine attended Hobart High School, Class of 1984. She received her associate degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Ivy Tech College and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Scholastic Sorority. She was a three-year survivor of pancreatic cancer. After teaching her family how to live better, love better and make everyday count, she passed from her earthly home into God's kingdom. She was preceded in death by grandfather Walter Charles Hart.

She is survived by her husband Jim; daughter Barbara Jean (Kirk) Lopez; sons James Woodke, Jr and Richard Artim-Woodke; mother Linda (Dan) Clark; father Earl (Diane) Griffin, Sr.; sisters Terrilynn (Chuck) Hasty, Cathy (Randy) Clardy and Jeannie (Ray) Anderson; brother Earl (Gidget) Griffin, Jr.; grandmother, Mary Hart; parents-in-law Sue Ellen and Don Graden, Robert and Marla Woodke, numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church of Hobart, 3561 Randolph St., Lake Station/Hobart, IN. (2 blocks N. of Rt. 6 on Rt. 51), with Rev. Alex Stone officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the memorial service. Cremation at Burns Funeral Home Crematory will precede the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Make A Wish Foundation or to the Locks of Love Hair Donation would be appreciated. Burns Funeral Home Hobart is handling arrangements.
