OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, AUGUST 2, 2012:

Zander, Warren P. July 10, 1917 - July 27, 2012; 95, Westville, Indiana, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at 4:31 a.m. in Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Michigan City.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5 Beech St., Otis, IN with the Pastor Thomas Sabel, STM officiating. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN handled arrangements.

He was born July 10, 1917 in Hobart, Indiana to the late Paul and Lydia (Lewin) Zander. On September 1, 1943 in Gary, IN he married Anna Zobjeck who preceded him on May 23, 1990. Surviving are a brother, Paul Zander of Hobart, IN; 1 grandchild; 5 great-granchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 3 nieces, Jeri Ann Hanson of Oakwood, IL, Debbie Vega of Hobart, IN and Romona Pickford of Portage, IN; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daugther, Judith Zander; a son, William Zander; 2 sisters, Marian Scharbach and Jean Davis; and a brother, Walter Zander. He retired as a welder from U.S. Steel and was a member of St. Paul's Evagelical Lutheran Church, Otis, IN where he also served as an Elder. Warren enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.
