OBITUARY FROM REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE, SEPTEMBER 24, 2012:

Evelyn Niksch, age 95 of Crown Point, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Wittenberg Village in Crown Point. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Hobart, Indiana and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Circle in Hobart.

Evelyn is survived by her four children; Bonnie Schumann of Connecticut, Dr. William (Judy) Niksch of Harbor Springs, MI, Louis J. (Terri) Niksch of Crown Point and Linda (James) Maul of Eden UT; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, sister; Dorothy Firlinger of Northlake, Illinois and nieces and nephews. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Louis “Bud” Niksch, parents; Herbert (Emily) Burkman and brother; Arthur Burkman.

Funeral services and visitation will both be held Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Wittenberg Lutheran Village Chapel, 1200 Luther Dr., Crown Point with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Cory Wielert officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN. Rees Funeral Home; Hobart Chapel is in charge of the arrangement. In lieu of flower’s memorials to Wittenberg would be appreciated.
