OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, SEPTEMBER 1, 2008:

Frances M. Brooks, age 77. of Hobart, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008. A lifelong Hobart resident, Frances was born to Thomas & Mabel (nee Massom) O'Keefe on October 23, 1930.

She is survived by her sons: Robert (Susan) Brooks of Hobart and Ronald (Mary Lynn) Brooks of Hobart; grandchildren: Bob (Katrice) of Hobart, Jeff (Brooke) Brooks, of Valparaiso, and Kellie Brooks; brothers: Robert (Mary) O'Keefe of Oregon and Thomas (Francie) O'Keefe of Arizona; sister: Marguerite (late Richard) Wheeler of Monticello, IN; and special caregivers: Laima Garuseva and Tracy Hickman. Frances is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Brooks, and parents, Thomas and Mabel O'Keefe. She was a loving homemaker whom loved and cared for her family. She was an avid sports fan cheering on the Hobart Brickies, the Chicago Cubs and White Sox.

A Mass of a Christian Burial will he held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. Directly at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 568 E. 2nd Street, Hobart with the Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Friends may pay their respects from 9:15 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at St. Bridget Church. Friends and family may visit with the family on Tuesday, September 2nd from 2-9 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
