Willis Chitwood, Jr. - Class Of 1976

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, MARCH 6, 2014:

Willis Elmer Chitwood Jr., 55, of Williamsport, formerly of Goodland, passed away at 3:18 pm, March 4, 2014 at IU Health Arnett of Lafayette. He was born on June 12, 1958 in Gary, IN to the late Willis E. Chitwood Sr. and Venita (Smith) Chitwood. He was raised in Hobart, IN where he met his future wife in the fifth grade at Ridgeview Elementary and attended Hobart High School. His marriage of 32 years was to Taresa Sheely on February 13, 1982 and she survives. Willis had lived in Hobart and Goodland before moving to Williamsport in 2007. He worked at T and D Metal of Watseka for 15 years. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and fishing, and reminding everyone that “It is what it is.”
 
Surviving with his wife and mother are his three children: Tina (Eddie) Heath of Lafayette, IN, Amanda (Jesse) Jones of Huntsville, AL, and Willis (Michelle) Chitwood III of Cusseta, GA; five siblings: Larry (Michelle) Chitwood, Mike (Pat) Chitwood, Jerry (Becky) Chitwood, Keith Chitwood, and John (Toni) Chitwood Willis; is also survived by his grandchildren: Kristal Heath, Shauna Heath, Eddie Heath III, Izeck Heath, and Luke Heath; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death with his father is a sister, Carol (Terry) Kleckner; paternal grandparents: Willis and Fairy Chitwood; and maternal grandparents: Johnny and Maye Smith.
