Wilma Baker (Johnson) - Class Of 1931

OBITUARY FROM THE POST-TRIBUNE, APRIL 5, 2006:
 
WILMA MAE JOHNSON Hoisington, Kansas/ Formerly Hobart, Indiana Age 92, passed away on March 29, 2006 at Cheyenne Meadows Living Center in Hoisington, KS. She was born June 11, 1913, in Gary, IN, the daughter of William Edward and Sadie Ameilia Johnson Baker. She married Elmer William Johnson on August 27, 1933, in Hobart, IN. He preceded her in death, February 1983. A homemaker and employee of Vossbergs, she moved to Hoisington in 1995. She was a former member of the First Christian Church of Hobart and a member of the choir.
 
Survivors: one son: Allen (Nancy) Johnson of Ogden Dunes; one daughter: Elaine (Clemens) Johnson of Hoisington; one sister: Lois Wilson of Hobart; one brother: Everitt (Mim) Baker of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren: Debra (Robert) Payeur of Olatha, KS, Deanna (Timothy) Dayhuff of Gerradstown, WV, Lori (Barry) Harting of Hoisington, Jennifer (Jon) Carpenter of Valparaiso and Margaret (Eric) Burns of Tucson, AZ; and eleven great-grandchildren.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Legacy Foundation for the benefit of NWI Habitat for Humanity, 1000 East 80th Place, Merrillville, IN 46410. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. with Rev. Robert Leach officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visiting hours will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2006 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
