William H. MacPherson, 77, of Culver, Ind., died Saturday, Feb. 8, 1992, at Plymouth Nursing Home in Plymouth, Ind. He was born in Gary, Ind.; was employed as a mechanical engineer for American Oil Co. for 25 years before retiring; and was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a former Army major and a veteran of World War II. He was a 1936 graduate of Purdue University and served in the Army from 1941-46.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Merici (Knott) MacPherson, formerly of Owensboro; a daughter, Kimberly Ann MacPherson of Plymouth; a brother, Robert ''Bob'' MacPherson of Hobart, Ind.; a sister, Ruth ''K.W.'' Cooper of Hobart; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Plymouth. Interment in Hobart Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Daviess County Alzheimer's Support Group, c.o. Nora Bilbro, 1650 W. Second St., Owensboro.
