Robert J. Berndt, age 90, fell asleep in Jesus' arms on May 25, 2023. Born on Sep. 2, 1932, Robert was owner and President of Porter County Impl. Corp. After attending Trinity Lutheran School and graduating from Hobart High School, he married his beloved Mary Brek on June 29, 1957. Together they raised 6 children in the faith of the resurrected Lord and Savior. Robert was active in his church as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and regular worship attender. He enjoyed work on his dairy farm and assisting other farmers within his John Deere business that was ranked #1 in service center throughout the state of Indiana. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife- Mary; father-John; mother-Selma, brother Curt Watters, sisters Lorraine Berndt, Johanna Smith. Robert is survived by his six children, Lisa (Jim) Selby, Robert (Kath) Berndt Jr., Debra (Fred) Karrle, Laura Berndt, Andrea Berndt, Mark (Melanie) Berndt; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grand children (with 2 on the way).

Visitation for Robert will be Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6240 Grand Boulevard, Hobart, IN 46342.
