Betty Ruth Stirber, 84, of West Chicago, died March 11 in her home. Betty was born November 11, 1918, in Gary, IN, and has lived in West Chicago for the past 35 years. She was a head nurse for AT&T for 24 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Copley Hospital Alumni Association, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

She is survived by her husband, George, four children, Ranie (Chris) Carroll, Caroline (Verne) Stark, Vickie (Mike) Cooper, and Charles (Tracy) Stirber, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, George Jr., and a brother, Leland Rockstraw.

Visitation Friday, 4-9 p.m. at Williams-Woodward Funeral Home, Rt. 59 and Pine St., West Chicago. Funeral Mass Saturday 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church in West Chicago. Interment Calvary Cemetery, West Chicago. Info: 630-231-1300.
