Anthony (Tony) Klaja - Class Of 1997

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, DECEMBER 23, 1996:
 
Tony "TK" "KLAJ" Klaja, 18, of Hobart, IN. passed away Saturday, December 21 1996. A lifelong area resident. He was born September 16, 1978 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Tony was an avid outdoors man. He played Hobart Little League from age 8 to 15. Was pitcher for the Hobart High School Varsity Baseball Team, pitched in the Babe Ruth Senior League World Series and also pitched for the Hammond Chiefs.
 
He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Nancy Klaja of Hobart; one brother, Bryan Klaja at home; grandparents, Eileen and Delos Swallow of Portage; aunts and uncles including Linda (Mike) Benka, Charles (Ethel) Swallow, Thomas Swallow, Judith (Charles) Stempley and Linda (William) Yarboro; several cousins. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry Klaja.
 
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 27, 1996 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana. Visitation Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel.
