JOANNE P. DOEGE Hobart, Indiana Joanne P. Doege, age 76, a longtime resident of Hobart, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. She was born on November 23, 1932 in Hobart, the daughter of Philip and Delores Demers. Joanne was married to Walter Doege on July 12, 1952 in Hobart and he preceded her in death on April 20, 1996. Joanne was a homemaker who enjoyed plants, cooking, sewing, and reading. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Joanne is survived by her family: sons, Bruce (Rosanne) Doege, of Hobart, and Robert Upthegrove, of Hobart; grandchildren: Benjamin Doege, Zachary Doege, Lara Doege, Heather (Brian) Carroll, Raymond Upthegrove; great grandchildren: Layla Carroll, and Caden Carroll; also her sisters, Vivian Upthegrove, of DeMotte, IN and Cathleen Maynerich, of Chicago, IL; and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter Doege, brother, Robert Demers, and sister Phyllis Gould. 

A visitation for Joanne Doege will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009 with Pastor Gary Nagy, officiating. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
