After graduating high school, I attended Purdue and received my degree in elementary education. As I was attempting to find a teaching job, I began to move through the promotional ranks of management at Burger King. I left BK for awhile to run Family Express for 3 years. Without much success in the education field, I enrolled in the College of Court Reporting in Hobart, where I learned to transcribe court procedings at 250 wpm. As I was accomplishing this, I began working for Wendy's restaurants at the Chesterton location, where I still am today. I use my education there surprisingly to transform the location into a training store to teach new employees how to be managers while running a successful multi-million dollar store continuing to run 20% up in sales even in this drab economy. I do all of this while being a single parent of 3. I guess you'd say my hands are a little full.

While attending HHS from 1986-1990, needless to say some of my greatest memories were going to the state football game three times in those four years. That is an opportunity few people in the world could say. The team spirit and support were awesome and unforgetable. Playing girls basketball for the Lady Brickies had it's ups and downs, but the friends I made through it all are the best. I will also never forget chosing to play for HYB on an all boy team my sophmore year. These guys surprisingly took me in without much slack and certainly toughened me up. Countless bonfires at my friend Shawn's house will be forever remembered by many. Completing my four years with my two closest friends, Wendy and Susan, whom I have been friends with since pre-k at Trinity Lutheran, continued to bond us together as we still visit each other to this day.
