Robert (Bob) Boyle - Class Of 1994

OBITUARY FROM BURNS FUNERAL HOME:

Robert “Bob” James Boyle, age 47, of Porter, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023 at Porter Regency Hospital. He was born in Oberlin, OH on October 22, 1975 and was the first of the two beloved children born to Ken and Diana Boyle. Bob attended St. Bridget School for his elementary education and graduated from Hobart High School in 1994. Bob had the privilege of attending Vincennes University from 1994-1996. He played on their baseball team as a catcher. He graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Communication and Sports Education. Bob finished his studies at Ball State University receiving his degree in Communications.

At a very early age Bob adopted the Chicago Cubs as his team. A highlight of his life was 2016 when the Cubs won the World Series. He loved adventures and traveled to Jamaica, Costa Rica, Dominican Republican, Cuba, Prague and Australia where he cut the ribbon for the Foster Beer Open. He will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by his parents; sister-Rebecca; two nephews-Derrik, Kaden; one niece-Melissa; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation for Bob will be Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., at Burns Funeral Home, 701 East 7th Street, Hobart. Prayers will begin at Burns (Hobart) at 10:30 a.m. and then proceeding to St. Bridget Catholic Church, 107 Main Street, Hobart, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., Fr. Dominic V.
