Thomas Andrew Rees, age 93, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016. He was born on September 23, 1923 in Elk Mound, WI to the late Thomas and Geneva Rees. Tom proudly served his country as a World War II combat veteran of the United States Army. He was employed for most of his life as an auto body mechanic. After his retirement he became a certified watch maker and repairman. He enjoyed working on tractors, cars, and anything mechanical.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Sherry (Edward) Eames; son, Stephen (Melissa) Rees; grandchildren, Danette Maldonado, Michael (Michelle) Rees, Kristie (Zach) Pyles, Andrew (fiancée, Kim Kalinka) Rees, Casey Rees, Samantha (fiancé, Mark Noto) Rees; 7 great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Olive Gibson; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty M. (nee Gustafson) Rees; son, David Rees; brother, Byron Rees; sisters, Margaret Zeeman, Helen Nelson. Memorial contributions in Tom's name may be made to the American Legion Post #54, 208 South Linda Street, Hobart, IN 46342.

A funeral service for Tom will take place Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana. Cremation will follow services.
