JOHN ROBERT TESCHEL Pensacola, Florida 1924-2006 John Robert Teschel, age 82 of Pensacola, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2006 in a local hospital. He was born in Gary, Indiana on October 13,1924 and resided in Pensacola since 1949. John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Camille, and his parents, Fred and Clara Teschel. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II and the Korean War. His service included duty on the USS Coral Sea, the USS Dortch and the USS Shenandoah. While serving, he was awarded the Victory Ribbon, the American Area Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with 5 stars, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Stars. After the war, John returned back to Pensacola where he and his father Fred purchased and managed Home Hardware of Warrington. In 1964, he founded Teschel and Webb General Contractors. In 1971, he founded Petroleum Service Company of Pensacola. John was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was also a 50+year member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree Councils 5658 / 778 and 4th Degree DeLuna Assembly and also a member of the Warrington Elks Lodge 2108.

Surviving family members are his six sons and daughters-in-law; Larry and Phyllis Teschel, Terry and Mary Teschel, Rick Teschel, Bob and Jan Teschel, Jack and Terri Teschel, and Tim Teschel, all of Pensacola, Florida. Grandchildren include Tony, his wife Peggy, Victor, Adam, Claire, Vincent, Trevor, Camille, Steven, Dana, David, Alexandria Teschel and Rachel and Melissa Strouse. Great Grandchildren are McKenzie Miller and Dyson Teschel. "We'll always love and miss you, Grandpa/Pawpaw." Other special family members include Mitzi Morris, Elaine Purvis, Laura Teschel, and Ambre Scornavacchi, several cousins, along with many cherished friends. Pallbearers will be Mr. Teschel's six sons. The Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Color Guard will provide customary honors. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Quigley, Ed Feeney, Richard "Dickie" Smothers, and Bobby Tronu.
