Carl Eldon was born and raised in Hobart Lake County, Indiana. Parents; Charlie John Fasel and Elsie C. Volland. Siblings; Harry, Everett, Clarence, Alvin, Sarah, Ruth, Beverly, Carol Louise, and Shirley. During his senior year in High School, he was a member of the Career Club, Varsity Basketball and Football teams. Carl was also a member of the H-Men's Club, an honorary organization whose membership was offered to athletes who earned major letters in athletics. Following graduation from Hobart High School, age of 19, Carl married the former Miss. Rosemary Koselke on 19 May 1947. During WWII, Carl, age 19 enlisted and served in the U.S. Military.
